David Tudor’s Rainforest
Currently presented by MoMA in New York City, this sound installation — Rainforest V (variation 1) — was conceived by composer/pianist David Tudor (1926-1996) and realized by John Driscoll, Phil Edelstein, and Matt Rogalsky, together known as Composers Inside Electronics. The sound environment includes 20 constructed sculptures and everyday objects fitted with sound transducers to construct, as Tudor thought of it, an orchestra of loudspeakers.
